Membership Rates for 2024
The Club’s Subscription year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
Full 7 – day Member

A Full 7-day Member package includes:
- Full playing rights with no restrictions on weekdays and weekends.

5 Day Member – Monday to Friday

A 5 Day Member package includes:
- Weekday (Monday to Friday) only playing rights
- Voting rights.
- Affiliation with England Golf and County Golf Association, which includes the World Handicap System

- Discounted Rate for Guests during permitted playing rights

5 Day Off Peak Member

A 5 Day Off Peak Member package includes:
- Selected afternoon off peak playing rights; specifically, after 1PM on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri or Sat.
- Excluded from qualifying competitions.
- Voting rights.
- Affiliation with England Golf and County Golf Association, which includes the World Handicap System
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings & receive preferential discounts on beverages.

Full Seniors (over 75 Years of Age) Member
£600 (Over 75)
A Seniors Member package includes:

Member must be 75 years of age on January 1st and have been a continuous member of the Club for a period of 30 years to take advantage of this category of membership.
Anyone who was a member of this category of membership before 1st January 2024 does not need to meet the 30-year continuous membership criteria period.
Low and Modest Income
£520
Penrith Golf Club, a registered Community Amateur Sports Club, offers acategory of membership for those on a Low/Modest Income. This rate is available without discrimination, to persons (new and existing) who can reasonably demonstrate they are unable to afford any of the Club’s standard subscription rates. Acceptable evidence of an applicant’s personal circumstances may be provided in the form of independent documentation (or proof) of any pass ported benefit (Income based Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support, Universal Credit, Income based Employment Support Allowance, Incapacity Benefit & Guaranteed Pension Credit). The Club will be discreet and confidential throughout the application process and all members within this category will enjoy identical voting rights and privileges of the other standard categories of membership.
A Low or Modest Income Member package includes:
- Full playing rights with no restrictions for play on weekdays and weekends.
- Voting rights.
- Affiliation with the World Handicap System
- Affiliation with England Golf and County Golf Association, which includes the World Handicap System
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings & receive preferential discounts on beverages.

Intermediate in Education (18 to 25 years of age) Member

An Intermediate in Education Member package requires that the applicant is:

Intermediate in Employment (18 to 25 Years of Age) Member

A 18-25 Member package requires that the applicant is: Under 25 years of age on 1 January of the subscription year.

Country

A Country Member package requires:
Full or five-day playing membership of another golf club and
Main residence* that is more than 50 road miles from PGC.
A Country Member package includes:

Second Club

A Second Club Member package requires: Full or five-day playing membership of another golf club.
A Second Club Member package includes:
- Full playing rights with no restrictions on weekdays and weekends.
- Excluded from club competitions.
- No voting rights.
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings & receive preferential discounts on beverages.
- UK Public Liability Golf Insurance
- Discounted Rate for Guests
- Discounts at affiliated clubs, including 1890 clubs
- Access to the PGA Professional, Driving Range and Practice Ground.
- Anyone who is a member of this category of membership and who is either a direct or indirect employee of the club shall not be entitled to a vote on any club matter, nor shall they be eligible for election to hold office in any position within the club.
Junior
£50
A Junior Member package requires that the applicant is:
- Under 18 years of age on 1 January of the subscription year.
- If under 14 years of age, the Member should be supervised by a parent or DBS checked person.
A Junior Member package includes:
- Off peak (see 5 Day Off Peak membership) playing rights – until agreed by the Professional.
- No voting rights.
- Affiliation with England Golf and County Golf Association, which includes the World Handicap System
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings and receive preferential discounts on non-alcoholic beverages.
- Access to the PGA Professional, Driving Range and Practice Ground.
This package may be discounted for persons joining later in the year
Cadet
£10
A Cadet Member package requires that the applicant is: Under 11 years of age on 1 January of the subscription year, supervised at all times by a parent or DBS checked person.
A Cadet Member package includes:
- Off peak (see 5 Day Off Peak membership) playing rights – until agreed by the Professional.
- No voting rights.
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings and receive preferential discounts on non-alcoholic beverages.
- Access to the PGA Professional, Driving Range and Practice Ground.
This package is not subject to a discount.
Social Member
£50
A Social Member package includes:
- Use of the Clubhouse facilities
- Participation in social events.
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to receive preferential discounts on beverages.
- No voting rights.
- Access to the PGA Professional, Driving Range and Practice Ground.
This package may be discounted for persons joining later in the year.
Life Member
A Life Member package includes:
- Full playing rights with no restrictions on weekdays and weekends.
- Voting rights.
- Affiliation with England Golf and County Golf Association, which includes the World Handicap System
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to enable BRS bookings & receive preferential discounts on beverages.

- Discounted Clubhouse Booking
- Discounts at affiliated clubs, including 1890 clubs
- Anyone who is a member of this category of membership and who is either a direct or indirect employee of the club shall not be entitled to a vote on any club matter, nor shall they be eligible for election to hold office in any position within the club.
Life membership will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Club Council to any member who in its opinion has displayed exceptional service to Penrith Golf Club, and the cost of membership is free of charge. Life membership shall remain in force until the death of such a member, or if such a member resigns from the Club.
In exceptional circumstances such as the holder of a Life Membership being subject to a serious and proven disciplinary complaint, then the honour of a Life Membership may be withdrawn.
Absent Member
An Absent Member includes:
- Use of the Clubhouse facilities
- Participation in social events.
- A Loyalty (Bar/EPOS) Card to receive preferential discounts on beverages.
- No voting rights.
- Access to the PGA Professional, Driving Range and Practice Ground.
The Absent Member category will be open to anyone who is a member of any playing category and who due to serious illness or injury is unable to participate in playing golf for a period in excess of six months. The granting of an “Absent Membership” and any reduction in membership fees will be at the sole discretion of the Chair of Finance, and each case will be treated on its individual merits.
Any Absent Member who becomes able to re-join a normal category of playing membership part way through a membership year will be allowed to do so on the payment of the appropriate pro-rata membership fee.
The decision of the Chair of Finance shall be final
