On Thursday 28th November 2024 members of the Junior Committee and other volunteers from the club alongside sports leaders from Ullswater Community College assisted Eden Valley Sports Partnership to host the annual tri-golf event at Penrith Leisure Centre involving 15 primary schools from across Eden.
The day consisted of 8 golfing activities including putting, chipping and target golf. There was a morning and afternoon session to cater for the numbers of children involved. The main aim is for the children to have fun and enjoy the day.
Oliver Luke, Development Manager for Eden Valley Sports Partnership said, “These events simply could not run without the kind support from the volunteers at your club. Their patience with the children, staff and the whole day was extraordinary. Taking their time to explain the practices to multiple groups of children is never an easy task but without their help it simply could not run.
They gave up their time to come and support this event and is very much appreciated. Let’s hope we have encouraged some junior golfers of the future and they are pushed towards your club”
The event will be held again in 2025 when the club will continue to provide assistance.
